I sincerely hope this is a joke. A bluetooth enabled salt shaker that plays music plus you can use it for mood lighting. Again – I sincerely hope this is a joke. A California-based “lifestyle” company called Herb & Body (apparently without a website) wants to finance the insane product through Indiegogo crowdfunding platform from June 15 on.

Some googling dug up an old PR document from 2015 which describes the same product from the same company but with some more sane (not by much) specs. It was supposed to be the worlds first digital salt dispenser. It was supposed to help consumers measure, track and control their salt consumption. A couple of years later they apparently decided to up the ante with a speaker and some LEDs.

Coming soon. Price tag as well.

Nox is a portable luminaire by Zurich-based designer Alfredo Häberli for a Danish brand Astep. This simple night lamp looks almost too simple, but it has an advantage. It has a wireless charging system with induction technology, so you can use it unplugged. You can carry it around wherever you need light both indoors and outdoors. It’s touch dimmer makes the Nox light versatile. It offers anything from a cozy soft light at a dinner party or a brighter light for reading. And that’s it. Do you need more from a lamp? I don’t think so.
