Bang & Olufsen, a brand known for incredibly designed and incredibly expensive range of televisions, music systems, loudspeakers, telephones, and multimedia products, designed a modular sound system that is pushing the limits between technology and interior design. The BeoSound Shape is a wall-mounted wireless speaker system made of modular hexagonal panels, designed by Danish designer Øivind Alexander Slaatto. The beautiful selection of coloured covers are the result of a Bang & Olufsen partnership with a Danish textile designer Kvadrat.

Behind each tile is a removable grille that features either an amplifier, smart hub, speaker or acoustic damper. Modular panels make this speaker system flexible in its configuration on the wall. Different patterns, different colours, but the sound remains excellent due to the Bang & Olufsen’s algorithm which distributes the signals across the speakers, making the correlated signal appear in the centre from every listening position.

It’s all rosy and fantastic until we come the price. But that’s life, right? So, for now I’ll just enjoy the pictures and imagine a perfect configuration for my future exclusive home filled with designer masterpieces.
