Years ago, when we were all younger a Matryoshka doll, or more commonly known as a Babushka, was a necessity on our souvenir shelves. Do you remember the fun we had, opening the figurines, one after the other, the constant surprise seeing a smaller figurine inside the one you just opened? And when you were convinced that this really was the last one, you'd notice that it too could be opened. And in it you'd find another, grain sized Babushka which would, with its filigree craftsmanship and painting, take you completely back.

Seeing how a Babushka is supposed to represent motherhood, fertility and warmth, I had quite a laugh with this find. To see someone “stuff” nuns into this symbolism while changing the shape from a vulvic one into quite a phallic one is cute.
